Cookie policy
Last updated 30 June 2026
This policy explains how Hurstbourne Forge Ltd uses cookies and similar technologies (such as browser localStorage) on this website, and how you can manage your choices. It should be read alongside our privacy policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files, and similar storage, that a website saves on your device. They let a site work properly, remember your choices, and, with your permission, help us understand how the site is used. Some are "strictly necessary" and some are optional.
Our approach: essential only by default
We don't load any non-essential or third-party cookies until you tell us we can. When you first visit, a small banner lets you choose "Accept all" or "Essential only". Until you accept, only strictly-necessary storage runs. You can change your mind at any time using the controls below.
Cookies and storage we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Stored for |
|---|---|---|---|
hf_cart_v1 | Strictly necessary (localStorage) | Remembers the items in your basket between pages. | Until cleared |
hf_consent_v1 | Strictly necessary (localStorage) | Remembers your cookie choice so we don't ask again. | Until cleared |
| Analytics | Optional (consent) | We don't currently set any analytics cookies. If we add them, they will run only if you accept, to help us measure and improve the site. | Not currently used |
Strictly-necessary storage is required for the site to function and does not need consent under PECR / UK GDPR. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Managing your choices
You can review or change your cookie choice for this site at any time:
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you do this under "Privacy" or "Cookies". Note that blocking strictly-necessary storage may stop parts of the site, such as the basket, from working.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our use of cookies changes. The "last updated" date above shows when it last changed.
